Growing up in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana, I undoubtedly developed a passion for art. Living in two cities with an abundance of colorful culture, scenery, art, diversity and music helped play a strong influence in my ever-growing appreciation for the arts. Through painting, drawing, sketching or collecting other artists' work, the arts have always been my creative outlet. Later in life, I developed a passion for traveling and exploring this beautiful world God has given us. Traveling and experiencing new cultures has continued to expand my knowledge of the arts and fuel my creative passion.
I attended Louisiana State University and received my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2012, graduating with Cum Laude honors. Although I did not study art in college, it has not inhibited my ability to excel and grow in my creativity over the years by working with other artists, experimenting with different mediums and techniques, and always nourishing my eagerness to learn and improve. I have been designing and distributing my work since 2008. I am currently living, working and creating art in Dallas, Texas.
Abstract art has always excited me because of the artist’s ability to express themselves on canvas. I have always been drawn to abstract work because of its interpretive, impressionable and experimental nature. My work can range from soft and serene to bold and vivacious, depending on what I'm feeling and experiencing in that moment. I layer mostly acrylic paints with the occasional use of underlying texture to create depth and contrast. I have also experimented with a combination of different mediums, including oils, ink, graphite, and gold or silver leaf. My goal with each painting is to create a unified, impressionable and aesthetically pleasing piece. I especially admire how each finished painting is unique and one-of-a-kind in color and design. My work is sometimes finished with a glossy varnish, which protects the painting while producing a vibrant depth to the colors created.
I feel very fortunate to have the ability to create something that brings pleasure to myself and others, while also sharing a piece of my personality and vision along with it. My hope is that my work will resonate with others, so that they may take away their own feelings and experiences.
